Personal Care / Home Health Aide

People often take for granted the things they do every day, like climbing stairs, taking care of personal hygiene or even just getting out of bed in the morning. But these things can become major challenges as you age. People may require personal care for a number of reasons. Assistance with personal care may be temporary while a person is recovering from an injury or illness or may be permanent, and is required for the remainder of their lives.

Any duties the home health performs will be planned by you and the case manager and added to your care plan. Services your home health aide may provide include:

  • Light housekeeping/chores
  • Bathing and showering
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Assisting with meal preparation
  • Assisting with feeding
  • Assisting with ambulation
  • Assisting with range of motion (ROM) exercise (requires a doctor’s order)
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment (client immediate area)
  • Medication reminders
